Working principle of medium-sized disc rake Disc harrow 1BJX
Disc blades: The "working core"-circular, sharp-edged steel blades (typically 50–60 cm in diameter, 3–4 mm thick) mounted on horizontal axles. They are angled (not perpendicular to the ground) to enhance cutting and turning force.
Harrow frame: A rigid welded structure (e.g., rectangular steel tube) that supports the disc axles, bearings, and adjustment mechanisms. It connects to the tractor via a three-point suspension hitch (standard for agricultural implements).
Select a suitable connection method: Medium-sized disc harrows have three connection modes: traction type, suspension type, and semi-suspension type. For small and medium-sized fields that require flexible operation, the suspended type is preferred because it is easy to control and has a small turning radius.
For large-area continuous operations, the semi-suspended type is a better choice. It can reduce the pressure on the tractor and ensure safe transportation. For example, the 1BJB - 5 semi-suspended medium-sized disc harrow has good road passability after hydraulic folding.

Axles & bearings: Each disc is attached to a rotating axle, with bearings reducing friction to ensure smooth disc rotation during traction.
Disc angle (working angle): The angle between the disc plane and the direction of travel (usually 15–25℃). A larger angle increases soil penetration and turning; a smaller angle reduces resistance for lighter tillage.
Tillage depth: Controlled by adjusting the suspension height or adding weight (e.g., weight boxes) to press the discs deeper into the soil.

| Multi-stage operations (pre-sowing, post-plowing, stubble removal) + broad soil compatibility. | |
| Balanced tillage depth/width + uniform clod crushing + high field coverage. | |
| Sturdy frame + simple structure + minimal moving parts. | |
| Easy tractor attachment + tool-free adjustments + compatible with common farm tractors. | |
| Cost-Effectiveness | Affordable purchase + low fuel/maintenance costs. |
| Supports soil health via residue incorporation + avoids over-tillage. |
Cutting: The sharp outer edge of each rotating disc slices through the soil, crop residues (e.g., wheat straw, corn stalks), or weeds-breaking them into smaller pieces.
Crushing: As the disc rotates, it rolls over soil clods (left by plowing or natural compaction). The combination of the disc's weight, rotation force, and angular pressure crushes large clods into fine, granular soil-ideal for seed germination.

Rear leveler: a must-have for pre sowing land preparation (to make the surface smoother and improve sowing uniformity);
Quick coupling device: optional when frequently changing agricultural tools (saving coupling time).
